Bordeaux The Best Ready to Drink Vintages !
1985: A beautiful and gourmet vintage. Smooth Bordeaux with soft tannins and superb fruit. A lot of pleasure now.
1988: Originally an austere vintage with marked tannins but very favorable to long aging. The wines are now suitable for the finest meat pairings.
1990: A really exceptional vintage! Very sunny, with perfection in the vineyards and in the cellar. Definitely, the best vintage ever produced between 1982 and 2005.
1996: Another great vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon for Médoc lovers. The wines are now starting to open up. A long decanting is preferable.
2000: A great year on the Left Bank, and success stories on the Right Bank. The wines are perfectly balanced and express beautifully in Pauillac, St Julien and St Estèphe. The simplest wines are ready to drink, fine wines are still aging. |
1986: The year of Cabernet Sauvignon! Great wines in Medoc and Pessac-Léognan with near-perfect scores. They just start to open up.
1989: The great year closing a superb decade. Generally well-made wines, with good concentration which still shows today through great flesh, especially for Merlot based wines.
1995: After 3 difficult years, it puts Bordeaux back on track to produce the finest wines of the 1995 vintage, especially in Pomerol and St Emilion.
1998: Legendary vintage in Pomerol, it marks the great success of Merlot which express itself beautifully on the right bank. On the other hand, Médoc wines are great for major producers but still require patience.
2001: Undervalued vintage (coming after 2000). However, it offers legendary sweet wines and remarkable Merlot based wines in areas such as St Emilion, Pomerol or even Pessac Léognan. These are now really enjoyable and great value for money!
